Lately I’ve been thinking about our living room. For months I have wanted to change the paint color, and for some reason, I can’t make up my mind. Nothing is hitting me and saying “I’m your color!” To help with inspiration, I thought I’d share living rooms with beautiful style. Each one is unique (some have a fun color) and I think you’ll find something to love in each space. Blue and white is a classic color scheme and you really can’t go wrong when you pair these two in any space. Add a splash of yellow if you feel like adding a bit of fun.
Cream and white looks pretty and elegant in a shabby chic style living room. Textures help give the room depth and warmth.
Cozy up a living room by painting the walls a dark color. Pops of orange complement the blue and keep the room from looking heavy and depressing. A metallic light fixture adds a bit of fun.
Use wood to add warmth to living rooms. This one has wood on the ceiling, walls, and floor. The look is softened with a floor-to-ceiling drapes, a fabric light pendant, a large fiddle plant, and upholstered furniture in neutral tones.
Add a little glam with pink and gold. Soft pink walls lend femininity to the space while gold metallic ottoman cubes add a bit of glam and sophistication.
Coastal style always looks cool and fresh in living rooms. Striped slip covers echo the architectural lines of the ceiling. When in doubt how to decorate your living rooms, choose a theme and stick with it, repeating similar elements throughout the room.
Rustic wood beams suspend a metallic light fixture from this European-style living room ceiling. I love when elegance and rusticity come together in the same living space.
Don’t be afraid to add color! You don’t have to commit to color on the walls or on furniture. Simply use accent pieces like throws, pillows, and artwork to add color to a room. You can always swap it out if you tire of it.
Rich wood and chocolate browns give depth to neutral living rooms.
Sometimes it’s worth splurging on a spectacular focal point like this living room’s stone fireplace. You can create the same effect for less money with an ornate mirror or large piece of artwork.
There are so many ways to add interest and beauty to living rooms. What features do you like best when it comes to decorating?
